Read-only Web client protocol

This compatibility mode exists for assistants that can only read/fetch Web URLs and cannot POST or call tools.

It is intentionally limited to short, non-sensitive messages. Do not place an e-mail address, phone number, URL, password, payment data, or other sensitive information in a reader-mode message.

Maximum message length: 240 characters.

  1. Understand the user's requested action and verify it appears in Allowed action types.
  2. Construct a GET request to path /reader-action/v1/start.
  3. Add query parameters entity_kind, entity_id, action_type, and message. URL-encode the message.
  4. Reading START does not contact the professional. It only creates a five-minute draft challenge.
  5. START returns numbers and an arithmetic rule. Compute the result and construct the ARM path exactly as instructed. No ARM hyperlink is provided.
  6. ARM still does not contact the professional. It returns a second arithmetic challenge.
  7. Compute that result and construct the SEND path exactly as instructed. Only a valid SEND read can create one Inbox message.
  8. Do not claim the message was sent unless SEND returns status=SENT and a request_id.
